Manchester United have had something of an injury crisis in the left-back position, with Luke Shaw not being consistently available for a long time.
It was a cruel twist of fate that the man brought in to plug those gaps, provide competition, and potentially even take over from the England international, has instead faced a similar injury fate.
Tyrell Malacia signed for Manchester United from Feyenoord in July 2022. In his first season with the club, the Dutchman made 39 appearances, but then failed to take to competitive action at all in the 2023/24 season.
He’s yet to get back on the pitch, but there have been positive updates recently regarding the 25-year-old.
Voetbal International now report they’ve been informed by insiders that Malacia is ‘very close’ to playing again, and could even return to action before the end of October.
Manchester United are presented as being very cautious with their player, which is understandable, but VI reckon that if his return is not at the end of this month then it should happen in early November.
