Che Adams’ time at Torino so far has been a dream-like scenario.

The arrival from Southampton has three Serie A goals and one assist, while also scoring once in the Coppa Italia so far for the club.

His form at Torino led to club sporting director Davide Vagnati being asked about the striker.

Vagnati mentioned that while they did try to convince Southampton into selling Adams in January, that didn’t work out due to finances. He also mentioned that the promise of using Torino as a stepping stone attracted Adams.

Those comments though, haven’t gone down well at all amongst the Granata fans.

TMW state that Torino supporters do not want their club to be seen as an ‘intermediate step’ by anyone, let alone Adams.

They have now protested against Vagnati’s comments and against Urbano Cairo’s way of running the club.

A banner was hung near Torino’s training ground last night, which said:

“Great step to go to a bigger club. (swear) you, Cairo and this embarrassing club.”

Vagnati perhaps shouldn’t have said what he did and things could have been expressed in a much more diplomatic way in his interview.

Torino will hope that this drama doesn’t impact Adams’ form in any way, especially since Duvan Zapata has picked up a long-term injury.

Adams may now have to make fans believes he doesn’t see the club as a stepping stone after his arrival from Southampton… an awkward situation that he really didn’t need someone to put him in.
