It seems West Ham owned Enner Valencia is wanted in Mexico, where he previously played for Pachuca before joining West Ham in 2014, but there are problems ahead of any deal.
Last month, we covered claims which said Pachuca are keen on taking him back. Their plan was to sign a star for the World Cup of Clubs, and in exchange, Valencia would have the chance to shine again and guarantee his spot in the national team.
Now it’s reported that another club has joined the race, but their interest didn’t last long. According to Record, Cruz Azul were also interested in signing the striker.
The problem is that they’ve found out Valencia is too expensive for them, with West Ham asking too much, so the signing is already ruled out. They are now set to go after the former Queens Park Rangers player Eduardo Vargas instead.
Valencia spent the last season on loan at Everton, where he only managed to score three goals. He’s now set to return to West Ham, and has two more years of contract with the London club.
