Team cohesion and camaraderie is a big thing in football, and it seems Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic is helping it greatly on loan at Red Bull Salzburg.
Salzburg 24 cover the situation today and how the Liverpool loanee has been forced to add to the team pot after losing his boots.
The media outlet explains that while Red Bull Salzburg were busy preparing for their Champions League clash against Stade Brestois this week, Bajcetic’s own preparations proved to be less than smooth.
He’s spending the season on loan at the Austrian side after spending most of last season out injured at Liverpool and is hoping to bounce back with regular playing time under former Reds assistant Lijnders, who has taken charge of the club this season.
It’s been a positive start for him to date but this week saw a little stumble as the midfielder ‘couldn’t find his boots’ on Monday.
This caused him to be late for training and led to sarcastic applause from his teammates which was seen in a training video published by the club.
They were visibly happy as the Liverpool man will be fined, and that money will be going into the team fund that pays for a ‘joint excursion’.
“That will be around €500 the day before the game,” revealed Lijnders, with a smile, when asked by Salzburg 24 about the incident.
How Bajcetic feels about the whole incident remains to be seen, but his teammates were certainly praised and ‘politely’ thanked the 19-year-old Liverpool prospect for his contribution to the team pot this week.
