Inter Milan have set their sights on Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah.
The Nerazzurri currently have six centre-backs including 32-year-old Stefan de Vrij and 36-year-old Francesco Acerbi. The duo’s deals expire at the end of this season.
The Liverpool player could be the right candidate to strengthen the Serie A side’s defence. That’s according to InterLive.it, who say Simone Inzaghi’s side are thinking about the 21-year-old for next season.
Quansah started in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Ipswich Town in the first game of the season. Arne Slot replaced him after the first half, and he hasn’t featured for the Reds since then.
The defender’s deal lasts until 2027. If he were to be restricted to a limited role at Anfield, InterLive.it state the Englishman could leave Liverpool next summer. Therefore, Slot’s decisions will be vital.
Inter would be closely monitoring his situation as they ‘really like’ the defender. They view him as the ‘ideal’ target to bolster their defence, also because of his valuation. The report states Quansah is valued at €20m and this is well within the Italian club’s reach.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio smells an opportunity to take the player away from Liverpool.
