West Ham United have ‘advanced in talks’ with two European clubs over defender Luizão as Corinthians have not reignited their interest.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who says the central defender may not be returning to his homeland after all.
Luizão has been linked with a move away from West Ham all summer after failing to make a breakthrough at the London Stadium since arriving from São Paulo in January 2023.
He’s yet to feature for the West Ham first team but has been a regular for their U21s over the last year, making 39 appearances and scoring four goals.
He doesn’t appear to be in West Ham’s plans moving forwards and has been regularly linked with a return to Brazil with Corinthians.
Andrade, though, reports that the Brazilian side’s last contact with the South American was six days ago. There has been no counteroffer from them since that point. The two sides had been discussing a loan deal but couldn’t find an agreement.
Because of that, West Ham have ‘advanced in talks’ with two European clubs in Belgium and France regarding the defender.
They both like the defender and could not get a deal done with the Hammers, who it seems have turned their back on Corinthians after growing tired of waiting for them to make a new bid.
