The agent of Salernitana star Massimo Coda has told the Italian media he hopes the club keeps to its word over a possible transfer this summer. Coda has been linked with a move to Leeds United, but the Championship side face stiff competition from Serie A clubs.
Speaking to Tutto Salernitana, Giuseppe Galli was asked about the future of Coda after Salernitana failed to achieve promotion from Serie B.
“We accepted the conditions of Salerno, but I would not say that he remains. You have to figure out if the club will keep their word,” said Coda’s agent.
In recent months we’ve covered reports from the Italian and the British press that Leeds United had made an offer for Coda. The player’s agent Beppe Galli spoke about requests coming in for his client, but didn’t go as far as revealing which clubs were interested.
Last summer it was claimed Leeds United made a last ditch attempt to sign Coda. Officials from the club reportedly travelled to Italy to hold transfer talks, but a deal never materialised.
Leeds United will face competition to sign Coda, with Serie A sides Genoa and Lazio linked with the player. Massimo Coda has been valued at €3m by his club.
