Club have started transfer talks to sign West Brom midfielder – Agent contacted

There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Trabzonspor are showing interest in West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuşlu.

The Super Lig side have been active in this transfer window and have been linked with a number of players from England.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has claimed on social media Okay is the latest player that Trabzonspor want to sign this summer as they look to bring in a central midfielder.

According to Sabuncuoglu, Trabzonspor are in talks to sign Okay after opening negotiations with his agent. There are no reports of any contact with the Championship club at this stage.

Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is a target for the Trabzon side. Middlesbrough’s Daniel Barlaser and Southampton’s Paul Onuachu have also been linked with moves as they look to add to their squad ahead of next season.

Okay made 18 appearances for West Brom last season. He’s contracted to the Baggies until June 2025. With just 12 months left on his contract they may have a decsion to make with the player this summer.
