Barcelona are away in the Canary Islands on Sunday, facing Las Palmas in a game crucial to Luis Enrique’s hopes of winning the title. Real Madrid have the advantage, but arguably have the harder game this weekend, at home to Sevilla.
Everton are dragged into the situation, as competition for Barcelona, with Mundo Deportivo claiming Ronald Koeman is aware the defender’s starting price is €20m. Lemos is said to ‘now be in the crosshairs’ of Everton.
In March of this year the local Las Palmas media also linked Everton, and said Lemos could be leaving in the summer. Everton were first linked to Lemos in March 2016, before Ronald Koeman took over at the Merseyside club.
Interest in the Uruguayan central defender is either at club level, and not pushed by manager, or it’s a coincidence Koeman is as interested as those previously in charge at Everton.
There’s every chance that Everton are linked for no other reason than they’ve been linked before.
