Two days ago, Corriere dello Sport said AC Milan could buy Tottenham Hotspur’s Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in the summer window.
Calciomercato now brings the latest on the Serie A side’s plan to try and secure a deal for the midfielder.
Unique Sports Group have been taking care of the Tottenham player’s interest since the start of this year.
They manage several players including Milan’s Malick Thiaw and VfL Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix, who is wanted by the Rossoneri. The agents involved have been in contact with Milan for the past few months.
Højbjerg was offered to the Italian club in April, and they have found out the financial conditions needed to sign him. The report says Milan are ‘concretely evaluating’ the option to sign him this summer.
Milan director Geoffrey Moncada and new manager Paulo Fonseca both like the 28-year-old, and they believe his technical and leadership qualities could be useful.
Tottenham, led by their chairman Daniel Levy, are requesting €20m for Højbjerg, who has a year left on his deal.
Calciomercato state the Denmark international is behind AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer in Milan’s midfield target list.
Irrespective of how the other two tracks progress, the report says Milan’s idea is to wait until the end of July, to find out if Spurs will lower their demands.
