Last week, Calciomercato reported Chelsea have intensified contacts to overtake AC Milan in the race to sign Boca Juniors’ Aaron Anselmino in the summer window.
The Blues are making progress in their efforts to sign the young defender if Olé’s latest report is to be believed.
Their title claims there’s only details missing for the 19-year-old to complete a move to Chelsea.
Within the report, it’s claimed the west London club have ‘everything ready’ to pay $18m [£14.2m] for the centre-back, which is $2m less than his release clause.
The Premier League side are so keen on securing the youngster’s services that they have ‘everything agreed’ with Boca Juniors. The two clubs will have to sort out the ‘small details’ for the operation to go through this summer.
According to Olé, Chelsea want to take the player to Stamford Bridge immediately, while Boca Juniors are looking to retain him [likely on loan] until June 2025. This is currently stopping Enzo Maresca’s side from making the Argentine’s transfer official.
Anselmino, for his part, is recovering from an injury, while also waiting for his future to be resolved.
