Two months ago, we covered claims from Germany that Leeds United are in picture to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Adam Hložek. The Whites are still chasing him and are joined by West Ham United.

That’s according to Bild, who say both West Ham and Leeds are keen on signing the 21-year-old.

The forward managed seven goals and five assists from 1,026 minutes last season. He’s not happy with his limited game time at the Bundesliga side.

Bild state the Czech international has ‘great potential, but shows it rarely’. This and the competition could be the reasons for his restricted minutes under Xabi Alonso.

Speaking to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen official Simon Rolfes said: “Adam has developed well in his two years with us. Now it’s about taking the next step forward.”

The report questions whether the attacker will take the next step at Bayer Leverkusen or at another club. Hložek has three years left on his deal, but an exit ‘seems logical’ this summer, especially because of interest from West Ham and Leeds.

It’s claimed both the Hammers and the Championship side are looking to strengthen their attack, and Hložek’s profile would suit their requirements.

Bayer Leverkusen haven’t yet received any offers for the player, and if there’s a sale, Bild say his former club Sparta Prague will receive 30% of the fee.
