Manchester United have identified AS Roma’s Paulo Dybala as a target for the summer window.
That’s according to Il Messaggero, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, who state the Red Devils ‘could tempt’ the 30-year-old.
It’s claimed Erik ten Hag would have made a ‘specific request’ to Manchester United to sign the forward this summer.
The possibility of moving to the Premier League appeals to Dybala, but he hasn’t received any offers so far.
Manchester United could snatch the Argentina international away from the Serie A side by activating the €12m release clause. The report says his €6.5m per salary request is the ‘real obstacle’ for the interested parties.
With a contract expiring in 2025, the Giallorossi haven’t contacted the World Cup winner’s camp to start renewal talks.
The release clause will be €20m for the Italian clubs and Roma can still block his move to another Serie A side by improving his salary from €4.2m to €6m per year. Their hands will be tied if a foreign club decides to activate his €12m clause.
Of course, those salary details are contradictory to the above, and it may well be that Manchester United are being dragged in to put pressure on Roma.
