Roma vice-president Ryan Friedkin will be handed the reigns at Everton when the Friedkin group complete their takeover of the club, with his father Dan Friedkin remaining at Roma.
That’s according to La Repubblica, who say Friedkin senior will ‘share passion, investments and flights’ between the two clubs while leaving his son in charge of matters at Goodison Park.
The newspaper explains that while it is obvious Everton could end up eclipsing Roma in terms of attractiveness for the group given the strength of the Premier League in general, there is no desire to simply abandon the Italian club and the work that has already been done there.
But the aim remains to take the Serie A side to the top of European competition and that will still be in place regardless of the purchase of Everton.
So rather than commitments being halved, the plan is to put Ryan Friedkin in charge at Goodison Park and leave him to deal with matters ‘personally’.
That will see him step away from his role at Roma, where he is vice-president, and Dan Friedkin move between the two clubs as he sees fit.
