Crystal Palace fans need not worry about the impending deal for Real Betis defender Chadli Riad, with there ‘no danger’ that the deal will collapse despite a delay in his medical taking place.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the defender will be in London on Wednesday or Thursday to finalise his move to Selhurst Park.

The newspaper reports that Riad will be the first major transfer departure from Betis this summer and everything is on course after they struck an agreement with Crystal Palace last week.

Although he was left out of the team to face Real Madrid at the weekend the decision was made for him not to travel immediately on Monday to undergo his medical.

Instead, he will do so between Wednesday and Thursday and sources close to the operation have insisted ‘there is no danger of the deal being broken’.

The defender is hoping that everything will be finalised and dealt with before next week, when he will travel to Morocco to link up with them to face Zambia and Republic of Congo. Friday is seen as the latest Crystal Palace fans may have to wait.

All indications and beliefs are that they will close the deal soon and Oliver Glasner will have his first signing of the summer.
