While Brazilian clubs show their interest in signing Philippe Coutinho from Aston Villa, the midfielder apparently has a preference.

Goal Brasil today writes that the player told Cruzeiro that Vasco da Gama have priority in case he heads back to his home country.

It’s said that while the Belo Horizonte side made contact for his signing, Coutinho claimed he’d rather return to his former club.

The midfielder is currently having a loan spell at Al-Duhail and is returning to Aston Villa in the summer. According to Goal Brasil, the English side might accept letting him leave on a new loan.

The big problem is that the interested club would have to pay his salary, which is high even for Premier League clubs.

As Lance also features a fresh story on this case, they claim there are talks between Vasco and Coutinho, even though they know how hard that move would be.

It’s probably safe to say that Brazilian sides would only have a chance in case Aston Villa accept to continue paying part of his salary, so the Villans will surely play a big part in those negotiations.
