At the start of this month, Quotidiano Sportivo reported Liverpool are ahead in the race for Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.

Last Tuesday, Tutto Atalanta stated the Reds could pose a serious threat to Juventus to sign the midfielder. It was also said a fee between €45m and €50m would be enough, even though La Dea initially requested €60m.

Tutto Juve bring the latest in the pursuit of Liverpool and the Turin club to sign the 26-year-old.

Both teams have shown interest and are set to battle it out for Koopmeiners’ signature in the summer window.

Chelsea are said to be in the mix for the Netherlands international. Tutto Juve say the Old Lady are in the driving seat, followed closely by the Merseyside club.

Arne Slot is set to replace Jürgen Klopp next season and the current Feyenoord manager could be a ‘determining factor’ for his compatriot to make the final decision to pick the Reds.

It’s claimed Liverpool could use the incoming manager to convince Koopmeiners, and can spend much more than Juventus. This gives the Anfield club a ‘big advantage’, in order to get ahead of the Italian club to acquire the Dutchman’s signature.
