Thomas Tuchel has not ruled out a return to Chelsea this summer once he leaves Bayern Munich, with the Premier League very much in his eyeline.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Tuchel’s ‘greatest short-term desire’ is to return to England as he doesn’t believe he is finished with the Premier League yet.

The journalist reports that Tuchel ‘has never ruled out’ a return to Chelsea and still has the Blues in his sights following his first stint in charge from 2021 to 2022.

That saw him take charge of 100 games in total and win the Champions League before a falling out with new owner Todd Boehly led to his surprise sacking.

He seems to have carried a torch for his former club ever since, though, with various reports in Germany making it clear he still likes them and loved his time in London, even if it ended the way that it did.

That’s come in to focus even more since it was announced he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season and Plettenberg insists a return to Chelsea has never been ruled out.

That’s largely to do with the fact Tuchel wants to manage in the Premier League again and doesn’t see his time in the country as being ‘complete yet’ given the way his first spell at Stamford Bridge ended.

His ‘greatest short-term desire’ is to return to England’s top flight, but whether the Blues are ready to offer it to him remains to be seen.
