For quite some time there’s clearly been something wrong in the relationship between Joshua Kimmich and those in charge at Bayern Munich.
Whilst it’s beyond question that the club appreciate his talents, there doesn’t appear to be a lot of love involved and he’s often edged out towards the media wolves.
That’s seen Premier League clubs linked with the Germany international, and Liverpool have been one of them.
Liverpool are now again mentioned as a potential destination, this time by local Bavarian newspaper Lindauer Zeitung.
They’re urging Kimmich to leave because, just like Toni Kroos found out, he’ll never receive the ‘full appreciation’ for his talents in Germany and therefore needs to go somewhere he’s fully valued.
Liverpool is the only club named and it’s said they’d be ‘predestined’ for Kimmich, meaning that Anfield would be an obvious destination.
There’s an insistence the player must go now, at the age of 29, leave Germany and try his luck elsewhere, otherwise he isn’t going to become the ‘real legend’ that he can be.
Given his contract expires in 2025, there may be the chance of a reasonable deal this summer.
Of course, Liverpool will have their own changes going on in the summer, but it’s worth keeping an eye on Kimmich and his difficult Bayern Munich situation.
