It appears that Liverpool are not done reshaping their midfield, and the arrival of a new manager after Jürgen Klopp departs will not weaken their ambition on the transfer market.
That’s what Il Secolo XIX suggested over the weekend, with Inter News 24 relaying their report on Nicolò Barella, and the Reds’ interest in the complete midfielder.
Anyone who watched last season’s Champions League will be fully aware of how good for and important he is to Inter Milan, and therefore why Liverpool would be interested in him.
In fact, the news outlet go as far as saying that a ‘major Premier League club’, with it added ‘potentially Liverpool or Manchester City’ are ready to ‘submit a pharaonic offer’ to convince the Serie A side to sell.
It’s said those in charge of transfer matters at Inter are ‘intensifying their efforts’ to prevent Barella from being lured to England’s first-tier.
The Italy midfielder has made it clear in the past that he is very happy where he is, but everyone knows money talks and the idea of playing for an iconic club like Liverpool could certainly be appealing.
We’ll keep an eye on this one, but this certainly wouldn’t be the first time the Reds take a look at the 27-year-old, who has been on the books of many Premier League clubs over the years.
