Manchester United and Tottenham are ‘watching’ Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou as he continues to shine under Xabi Alonso.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the Premier League duo are keeping an eye on the 23-year-old ahead of the summer.
The newspaper has a double page spread on the Leverkusen squad today and the various players within it who are being watched around Europe thanks to their performances this season.
The German side currently sit eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, playing at thrilling attacking style of football under Xabi Alonso and that has seen everyone keeping a close eye on them and their players.
Kossonou is one of those to have risen quickly. He arrived from Club Brugge in 2021 for €23m but was labelled an ‘average player’ before the arrival of Alonso.
Under the Spaniard he has developed into a ‘top defender’ and Manchester United and Tottenham are both ‘watching him’ ahead of the summer.
Any move for him would cost ‘at least €50m’ so he would not be a cheap signing, with Bayer Leverkusen seemingly setting their stall out at a high price and showing now indication they’ll make negotiation easy for Manchester United or Tottenham should they move.
