If Sabah on Monday are to be believed, then Tottenham ended up leaving a trip to Turkey with a nice surprise in their back pocket.
That’s a positive scout report of Baris Alper Yilmaz, currently shining at Galatasaray, whom Spurs were watching because they were ‘preparing a report’ for Tanguy Ndombele.
The outlet explain that while putting together something for Tottenham about their loanee, the performance of the 23-year-old winger caught the attention of scouts.
In fact, it’s said that he is now on Spurs’ ‘transfer list’, meaning his name is now on a board somewhere in the club’s offices, after they ‘started to watch’ Yilmaz instead of Ndombele, and they have now ‘joined the race’ to acquire his services.
However, Galatasaray will not let him go for cheap, as they expect a fee of ‘over €20m’ to be presented if a team, whether it be Tottenham or someone else, want to sign him.
Just to show how highly-rated Yilmaz is at Galatasaray, Sabah also include two opinions from journalists in their article.
One of them, Ali Gultiken, describes the forward as a ‘game changer’, who has undergone ‘tremendous development’ and can perform wherever he plays, having featured as left-back, right-back, right winger and left winger.
Just something to keep in mind.
