To the surprise of absolutely no one, the agent of Radu Dragusin is speaking to the media about the Tottenham Hotspur player.
This time, Florin Manea was interviewed by Fanatik. Quoted by Romanian outlet Playsport, he discussed the player’s potential sponsorship deals.
The representative explains that now that Dragusin has been involved in a big move to Tottenham, it’s time for him to get some new commercial agreements as well.
“We’re already talking to a lot of people. We have a written offer from Nike. I’m in negotiations with them. From Nike and from Adidas. We are seeing. They have to put out a little bit more if they want to… Less than a million a year. They don’t give that much money. There are others… Gillette, other companies that give,” said Manea.
“Nike, Adidas and Puma. That’s it. You can get money from them. So of those three, it’s a shampoo company (that’s giving the most).”
“I’m not happy with the offer (from Adidas). They need to put their hand in their pocket. We might see him with Adidas if they don’t dig deeper in their pocket.”
Regardless of how much the agent likes to open up, Dragusin’s move to Tottenham is seen as a big thing by the Romanian media, who are actually proud that the defender will soon be featuring in the Premier League regularly.
That hasn’t happened yet, though, as despite Spurs’ urge to sign a new centre-back in the January window, they still didn’t need him to start yet. Ange Postecoglou used the player three times, against Manchester United, Brentford and Everton, but all in the final minutes of games.
So as his entourage works on those subjects far from the pitch, Dragusin does his best to show he deserves a place in the team.
