While there was hope that Leicester City could wrap up a deal for Stefano Sensi before the weekend, that has been delayed until this week.

The transfer isn’t off, though, far from it, as FC Inter News report on Monday that the Foxes are getting closer to signing their man after Cesare Casadei returned to Chelsea.

They say the ‘final goal is in sight’, and the belief is that new contacts will take place ‘as early as tomorrow’ to wrap up the player’s transfer to Leicester.

They explain that a ‘real meeting’ is expected be held ‘between tomorrow and Wednesday’ over in Viale della Liberazione, which are Inter’s headquarters, after the player and his entourage have returned from Riyadh.

The belief is that Leicester will pay around €2m for the midfielder, whose contract with Inter is set to expire at the end of the season.

He has ‘already accepted’ the move to the King Power Stadium, where he will likely sign a contract of either one and a half or two and a half years, with the hope of eventually making it to the Premier League, as Enzo Maresca’s side currently sit top of the Championship.
