On Tuesday, Il Resto Del Carlino reported Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to have asked about Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori.
The north London club strengthened their defence by adding Radu Drăgușin to their squad last week and that hasn’t stopped them from looking at Calafiori, who can operate both as a centre-back and left-back.
Quotidiano Sportivo now state ‘contacts have arrived’ from Tottenham for the 21-year-old.
Spurs aren’t the only club and have joined Inter Milan, Juventus, Milan and Napoli in the chase for the Italy U21 international. There’s still time to talk about his future, because it also depends on where the Serie A side [currently seventh] will finish this season.
La Repubblica don’t mention Tottenham or any other club that have shown interest in the versatile defender.
It’s said Bologna are working on further bolstering their squad in the winter market and want to bring in players who could replace some of their stars in the near future.
Calafiori belongs to the latter category and the report explains that top clubs are likely to make an ‘assault’ for him next summer.
