As far as the French media are concerned, Manchester United are the most likely destination for Bernardo Silva this season.
Very capable in tight spaces and adept at quick interchanges in fast paced football, the Portuguese starlet has emerged as one of Monaco’s best players over the past couple of seasons, and could very well move in the summer were a huge bid to a land on the principality club’s desk in the upcoming transfer window.
Reports have suggested Jose Mourinho’s side as having some kind of ‘priority’ for the 22-year-old, and now Bernardo Silva himself has just admitted he would be keen on a move to England.
Speaking to CNN in an exclusive interview ahead of Monaco’s return Champions League quarter final leg against Dortmund, the forward discussed where he sees himself in the near future.
He said: “For now I’m feeling very well here in Monaco. It’s my third season in France, but of course all the players want to play in the best leagues. Spain and England are the best, and of course I dream one day to be there.”
Whether this means a move to Manchester United remains to be seen, but with a certain Jorge Mendes as his agent, the same man who represents Jose Mourinho, it’s very easy to jump to early conclusions regarding Silva’s next move.
The 22-year-old forward has scored nine times and assisted his teammates on 10 occasions this season over the course of 49 appearances in all competitions.
