Chelsea move for signing – Blues want to ‘lunge’ for transfer and trigger clause in January

AS Roma’s Paulo Dybala has ended up on Chelsea’s transfer agenda this month, according to a report from Italy.

The forward has scored six goals and registered six assists from 17 games this season and has received interest from England.

That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who mention Chelsea as the only interested party.

The west London club have scored 34 goals from 20 league games this season and are aiming to bolster their attack in the winter market. They have identified the 30-year-old as an ideal candidate for that position.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are thinking about the Argentina international and it’s claimed this track could become concrete in the coming days.

The former Juventus man’s current deal lasts until 2025 and TMW explain it includes a €12m release clause for clubs outside Italy, valid until January 15th.

Roma are planning to extend Dybala’s contract, with an improved salary, while Chelsea want to ‘lunge’ to acquire his signature. TMW add this will be an ‘important week’ for the South American’s future.

It’s possible that Dybala’s camp may have dragged Chelsea into the mix to get a better deal from Roma.

That said, €12m is cheap in the current market…
