Juventus’ chase for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is a saga which has been dragging for a while, but with the January transfer window finally knocking on the door, it’s time to see how Spurs will really react to the Old Lady’s attempt.
An update on this story is now brought by Gianluca Di Marzio, and it seems there a some positive news for the Bianconeri now.
It’s said that Tottenham have now ‘given an opening’ to the possibility of a loan with Juventus’ obligation to buy Højbjerg.
Di Marzio claims the Old Lady are not alone in the race, though. Other Serie A sides, including Napoli, as well as Premier League clubs, are said to be keen on the midfielder too.
What seems to really make this transfer uncertain is that Juventus have other targets for the midfield. The report says a decision has not yet been made, as other players such as Kalvin Phillips are also on their list.
Højbjerg has 17 appearances for Tottenham this season, and continues to get playing time under Ange Postecoglu, and that’s why Spurs are not making his departure so easy. He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €28m.
