Álex Moreno increasingly impressive performances for Aston Villa mean he is unlikely to make a return to Real Betis in January.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the player that the fact Moreno is ‘on fire’ under Unai Emery means a transfer away from Villa Park is unlikely.
They explain that this past weekend was arguably Moreno’s best performance since arriving at Aston Villa as he bagged a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over Brentford.
That helped Villa continue their current fine form that has seen them rise up the table and currently in the title race.
That’s bad news for Betis, whose potential idea of bringing Moreno back to the club seems to be shrinking into the distance.
Everything indicates that Betis will move for a left-back in the January window as Juan Miranda appears to be on his way to AC Milan and rumours had suggested Moreno could arrive on loan as a result.
But Estadio Deportivo insist that he is yet to receive a call from those in charge at the club and, furthermore, given he’s impressing at Aston Villa it does not seem likely that Emery or director of football Monchi will be ‘willing to let him leave’.
Thus, that should be the end of this rumour, with no efforts seemingly underway and even if Betis were to make a move, it would be knocked back anyway.
