Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Véliz may have just arrived at the club, but a return to Argentina is already a top in the local media.
As El Crack Deportivo Noticias had been sharing some River Plate news at the weekend, they mentioned a few names who the Millonario are currently interested in.
According to journalist Damian Rancez, Véliz is one of the names on the list, and River Plate will make an attempt to get him signed from Tottenham.
The outlet claims that River Plate shall not be alone in the race for the striker, as his former club Rosario Central are also interested in him.
Tottenham spent €15m to sign the player last summer, and decided to keep him in Ange Postecoglou’s squad instead of loaning him out to gain more experience somewhere else.
It turns out that he only made six appearances for Spurs so far, and all of them were at the end of Premier League matches, getting just a few minutes on the pitch.
Perhaps a January loan would indeed be a good solution for Tottenham, although the club may prefer to keep him in Europe instead of sending him back to South America.
