Back at the start of the week, there had been exciting reports in England and Brazil claiming Arsenal were preparing an offer to sign Marcos Leonardo from Santos.
It was said the Gunners were getting ready to spend €17m on the player, who’s highly expected to leave South America in January.
As ESPN Brasil now shares a story on that pursuit, they actually come up to say that Arsenal are still to place their bid for Marcos Leonardo.
It’s claimed that no offers arrived yet, and there’s actually even a chance he could up staying at Santos for a few more months.
The reason for it is that the January transfer window isn’t the one with the biggest investment, and his agents, who are ‘looking for solutions’, are aware of that.
Also on Thursday, Goal Brasil featured a story claiming Arsenal made an approach for Marcos Leonardo.
That article claimed that Santos, who’d been demanding at least €15m for the striker, could now decrease their demands because of their recent relegation.
That means the striker could end up being quite a bargain, but Arsenal would need to place their bid first.
