Martí Cifuentes has already ‘revitalised’ Queens Park Rangers, with the ‘Cifuentes effect’ already clear for everyone to see.
That’s according to Marca, who have covered the Spanish coach’s impressive start to life at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
The newspaper explains how the ‘Cifuentes effect’ is brining hope to ‘legendary’ club QPR, with the Spanish coach having revitalised the Championship side since his arrival.
They detail how in just six games Cifuentes side have won three, drawn two and lost just one, ensuring they’ve picked up 11 points, three more than they’d managed in the previous 14 without him in charge.
The effect he’s had on the side ‘is clear’ and there’s further stats to back it up, with nine goals in six compared to just ten in the 14 previous and one of those wins ending a streak of 12 without one.
That was the turning point and they haven’t looked back since, with the recent wins over Stoke, Preston and Hull also the first time they’ve won three in a row since October 2022.
The strong start means Cifuentes is also, statistically at least, the best QPR coach since 2008/09 with no other manager since then managing his tally of 11 points in their first six games.
Now, this was written before the clash with Plymouth, which ended in a 0-0 draw, another solid result for Cifuentes and QPR that moved them within a point of Huddersfield and Millwall in 21st and 20th respectively.
All eyes are now firmly on moving up the table and away from relegation trouble thanks to the ‘Cifuentes effect’, which has been so pronounced it’s being picked up in the Spanish media too.
