AC Milan have identified Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior as one of the targets to strengthen their defence in January and this has been reported regularly in the Italian media over the past few weeks.
The Serie A side are also in the market for a new attacker, where Lille’s Jonathan David has been pushed forward as an option.
TuttoMercatoWeb interviewed football agent Luigi Matrecano and with regards to Milan’s potential signings, he was asked whether the Canadian and the Arsenal player can be the ‘right profiles’ for the Serie A side.
“They both could be useful to Milan. Kiwior already knows our championship, he plays little at Arsenal, it could be a possible solution. Jonathan David is an important player, Milan have Giroud who is 37 years old: they need a player like that, but you need a fair offer,” he said.
It’s to be noted Matrecano does not manage nor represent the 23-year-old and was sharing his views on what it could mean for Milan to sign him in the winter market.
Mikel Arteta’s side signed the centre-back from Spezia at the start of this year. Since then, he has found it difficult to cement a place in Arsenal’s starting lineup, as he has managed only seven league starts.
The Poland international’s situation at Arsenal has convinced the Rossoneri to consider an approach for him in the next window.
According to Meczyki.pl, Milan’s ‘interest is real’ and had sent their scout to watch Kiwior in action during this month’s international break.
A deal remains complicated because Arteta is not in favour of the player’s exit in January. It’s claimed Arsenal feel it would ‘make little sense’ for them to send the Pole out on loan.
