Manchester United and Chelsea have joined other top clubs in the race for Estevão Willian, according to today’s Mundo Deportivo.
The 16-year-old join Palmeiras in 2016 and has been representing their U20 side this year, where he has managed two goals and an assist from 14 games.
He has starred for Brazil at the U17 World Cup in Indonesia, managing three goals and three assists from four matches. The winger’s latest form has seen several clubs take notice, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
The newspaper states Real Madrid are the latest club to join the chase and have contacted Palmeiras to know about the youngster’s situation. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen and have tabled two bids of €40m and €50m.
Apart from Los Blancos and PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City are also ‘behind the great pearl’ of Brazilian football.
Estevão turned 16 years of age in April and that’s when he signed a new deal until 2026, which includes a €60m release clause.
After being subjected to interest from these top clubs, Mundo say the teenager’s dream is to make a switch to Barcelona. Their financial situation would make a deal difficult but that won’t stop them from following his situation.
Real Madrid have joined the chase for the young talent and Mundo add they have no plans to give up.
