Despite the failed transfer from the last summer, it seems João Palhinha may still change Fulham for Bayern Munich in a near future.
Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg is the one bringing some news today, claiming this transfer is still pretty much on for all sides involved.
The journalist starts by claiming that Fulham ‘signalled’ to Palhinha that they would let him leave for Bayern in January for a ‘lower fee’ than the €60-65m that had been negotiated in the summer.
The midfielder is said to still be in the Bundesliga side’s list, even though they ‘definitely’ won’t spend over €60m on his signing now.
According to Plettenberg, the transfer is now a ‘question of money’, despite being ‘far away from being done’.
Bayern and Fulham are still to resume the talks for the transfer, so it sounds like they will only negotiate matters once more if Bayern Munich are sure they’re ready to invest an appropriate amount.
With the Whites reportedly in advanced talks to sign André from Fluminense, the idea of them selling Palhinha in January makes a lot more sense, as they appear to be confident about getting a replacement in to compensate any departure.
