On Tuesday, there were claims from Portuguese newspaper Record saying that William Carvalho will probably be sold by Sporting next summer, and the price will start from €25m.
Now A Bola has an article about it too. They claim that Sporting are already looking for a substitute for Carvalho, but the A Bola difference is that the minimum price for him would be €35m.
Just like Record did, A Bola also recalls that Arsenal and West Brom have tried to sign the player in the past, and don’t really mention any club who would try to take him next summer.
West Brom made the most firm attempts during the last summer transfer window, and would be far likelier to be interested at €25m than at €35m. There were several bid amounts reported and it seemed the English club were keen but not keen enough to match Sporting’s demands.
With there being agreement in the Portuguese media on Sporting now being ready to negotiate the player’s exit, West Brom would now be in a better position to the sign the player than they were last summer.
