‘25% going to Leeds’ – Whites will now receive money after transfer completion, less than first expected

Ever since Leeds United sold Elia Caprile to Bari, it was said that the Elland Road side would be getting a percentage of a future fee.

One of the reports that soon followed the sale stated that the Whites could get as much as 50% of whatever the goalkeeper was sold on for, but Gianluca Di Marzio reports that will be a fair bit less.

Taking to his website following the announcement that the former Leeds man was sold to Napoli and then loaned to Empoli, he then went into the details.

He made it clear that Caprile would be signing for the club of his dreams on a five-year contract before heading to the other Serie A side, who sold Guglielmo Vicaro to Tottenham and needed a new goalkeeper.

As for the transfer fee, €6-7m would be paid to Bari, with ’25% going to Leeds’, described as his former club where he played between 2019-2021 before heading off on a loan to Pro Patria in Serie C.

That’s where he impressed Bari, who then struck a deal with Leeds for a minimal fee and what we now know is 25% of a future fee.
