On Thursday, TuttoMercatoWeb stated Manchester United’s offer for Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund should arrive in the next few hours.
The striker is a key target for Erik ten Hag and his side are in pole position to secure his services.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Manchester United want to close the deal ‘as soon as possible’.
The 20-year-old has agreed a deal with the Premier League side and is waiting for the club to make a ‘concrete’ effort.
It’s claimed Manchester United will have to ‘formalise a new offer’ in the coming days to try and move towards the Serie A side’s request.
Alfredo Pedullà also states the Denmark international has a ‘total agreement’ with the Old Trafford club.
It’s said the ‘talks between the clubs are done’ and Manchester United have already made a ‘verbal proposal’. Pedullà adds Ten Hag’s side will ‘get down to business very soon’ to meet Atalanta’s demand of €60m plus bonuses for the Dane.
The two reports point out Atalanta don’t want any players to be included in the deal and only want cash.
Sky Italia interviewed Gasperini and asked if Højlund will be at Atalanta after this window.
“If he stays? I don’t know, honestly, I don’t know, the market is unpredictable, the value of the player I don’t know, he can be worth €100m, but the value of the market is uncertain,” he said.
“There are strong players who are struggling to find their place and other young people who reach certain figures, Højlund is among the very first in Europe among emerging players.”
