Arsenal are moving forward for the signing of Sacha Boey from Galatasaray, according to reports from Turkey.
Turkiye Gazetesi today writes that the Gunners have ‘stepped in’ for the transfer and are ‘determined’ to get it done.
The report claims Arsenal’s offer is of ‘approaching €20m’, and that’s a little below the €25m originally demanded by Galatasaray.
The Turkish side consider the Gunners’ bid not to be enough, but actually want to negotiate and get over €20m for the transfer.
It’s claimed that Arsenal don’t want to lose that opportunity and are ‘expected to accelerate’ to complete the deal.
Boey himself seems to be on board with the operation, as he’s claimed to be keen on the move as long as that’s done for the right conditions.
A reason for Arsenal to speed up is that they may have competition from the Premier League for the signing, as Brighton & Hove Albion are also said to be interested in the player.
Galatasaray only spent €1.15m to sign Boey from Rennes a couple of years ago, and that’s proving to be more than a good investment.
