Mauricio Pochettino is the leading candidate for the manager’s job at Chelsea, with Burnley boss Vincent Kompany currently in second place.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the Argentine coach has a ‘head start’ on the other candidates at this moment in time.
Chelsea are currently on the hunt for Graham Potter’s long-term replacement at Stamford Bridge and are interviewing a number of candidates for the position.
Several big names have been linked with the position, including Pochettino, who remains out of work after leaving PSG last summer.
Tavolieri now reports that he has a ‘head start’ on the other two candidates in the top three, Vincent Kompany and Luis Enrique.
However, Burnley manager remains ‘well placed’ if Chelsea are unable to reach an agreement with Pochettino to return to London.
That’s earned him a growing reputation and it seems Chelsea are now ready to move for him, if they can’t convince Pochettino to take the reins first.
