This week, the Argentine media was quite happy to announce that the U20 World Cup would be hosted in their country.
Following their 2022 World Cup title, this would now be a chance for the local fans to show support for their young internationals.
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was supposed to be in that squad, but according to TyC Sports today, the Red Devils are blocking him from going.
The outlet reports today that the Premier League side have decided to stop Garnacho from travelling to Argentina for the tournament.
TyC Sports writes that Manchester United are not obliged to let him go and will use that on their side, even though the AFA and manager Javier Mascherano will ask all clubs to cooperate.
Garnacho has been injured for weeks, and with no date set for his return, the Red Devils are anxious to see him on the pitch again.
Since the U20 World Cup takes place in May, that means Manchester United would have to miss out on him in the Premier League to let him play the youth tournament.
We had previously seen Bolavip claiming clubs would be forced to let the players participate, but that no longer seems to be the case.
