Linked with moves to both Tottenham and Chelsea in the past, there is a strong chance that Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj could leave La Viola in the summer.
AC Milan are said to be very interested in the Croatia international, yet the latest rumour suggests that Manchester United are also after the 27-year-old, according to Firenzeviola.
The website claims one of José Mourinho’s scouts was present at Roma vs Fiorentina last Tuesday to watch Badelj after the Special One decided bringing in the player could be a good operation in the summer.
The defensive midfielder played the entire 90 minutes of that game, but was unfortunately on the end of a 4-0 battering as Luciano Spalletti’s men completely dominated Fiorentina in the league game.
With a contract running out in 2018, this summer would certainly be the best time for Badelj to change clubs, with Fiorentina likely to make a tidy profit on the £3.4m they paid for him three years ago.
However, Sport Witness has learnt that, as things stand, Manchester United are yet to express any interest in the player, with the story being described as ‘just something from the papers’.
We’ll keep our ear to the ground regarding this one in the future.
