Mane’s pace was too much for Tottenham to deal with, and the Spurs back-line could do nothing as the Liverpool player fired his side to an early 2-0 lead.
Liverpool missed the Senegal international during the Africa Cup of Nations, and it’s no coincidence that their best performance in a long time came with Mane back. The 24 year old has seen the perception of his talents soar in England this season, and that appreciation is spreading around Europe.

Mane has been picked behind Barcelona’s Luis Suarez and alongside Schalke’s Leon Goretzka, a player who has been loosely linked with Liverpool on occasion.
