Over the past few days, we have seen a growing number of stories regarding Mattéo Guendozui and a potential move to Aston Villa.
The midfielder, who played under Unai Emery at Arsenal, is said to be a priority target for the Spanish manager as he continues to find ways to improve his squad at Villa Park.
Previous claims stated the Spaniard had already reached out to the Marseille star to try and convince him to move back to England; this time to Birmingham.
One thing is certain, at least, and that’s the fact Aston Villa have yet to make an offer for the Frenchman, as revealed by the Ligue 1 side’s president, Pablo Longoria.
As we all know, no club is formally allowed to sit down with a player to discuss a contract until a move is sanctioned by both sides, but there are often ways around that to pre-plan certain matters.
Either way, it appears Aston Villa have yet to formulate the reported €30m+ bid that was in the works, but that could change at any time.
