RCD Mallorca are yet to receive an offer from Aston Villa for star Kang-in Lee, despite reports of interest from England.

That’s according to COPE, who say the Spanish side are aware that Lee could become a target ‘at any time’.

They explain that Lee never fails to appear as a name on the transfer market, with him mentioned during every transfer window.

That is again the case this month, with reports stating he is on the radar of both Aston Villa and Newcastle in the Premier League.

Indeed, a report five days ago made it clear that Aston Villa had presented the first bid for the player but COPE say that is not the case.

According to their information, Mallorca are ‘not aware’ of any such interest from Aston Villa at the moment. They have not received any formal offer for Lee, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen at some point in this window.

Indeed, it is ‘clear’ to everyone at the club that Lee could be a target at any time because of his talent and the fact his price tag of €20m is not very high.

That is a ‘not inconsiderable’ figure for Mallorca but ‘very low’ for Premier League teams in contrast, particularly those with money to spend like Aston Villa and Newcastle.

There has yet to be a ‘real commitment’ from those clubs, though, and neither of them have gone that far as yet.
