Retired Italian midfielder Antonio Nocerino has insisted he doesn’t regret his move to West Ham United, despite it not working out for him.
Nocerino joined West Ham on a loan deal from AC Milan in the January transfer window as the Hammers looked to bolster their squad that month.
The move was the player’s first outside of Italy, where he had turned out for the likes of Juventus and AC Milan in a varied career up to that point.
He would make just ten appearances for West Ham between January and the end of the season, providing just one assist as the Hammers finished 13th in the table.
It was a loan spell that did not work out for either party, with him returning to AC Milan that summer before being loaned out to Torino and Parma in the next two years before a free transfer to Orlando in 2016.
“My career? West Ham was a learning experience, it made me grow and opened my mind,” I Love Palermo report him saying to Diretta.it.
“I knew it would help me a lot preparing for my move to America. English football is a spectacle.
“The intensity is very high, the atmosphere in the stadiums is beautiful. It’s an experience everyone should have, and they won’t regret it.”
