Highly rated Croatian youngster Dion Drena Beljo has revealed his desire to move to the Premier League, with Newcastle United a dream club.
Beljo has been earning himself a growing reputation with NK Osijek, with a tally of eight goals and two assists in 16 appearances in the SuperSport NHL this season.
That comes after a hugely impressive campaign last year in which he bagged 15 goals and four assists in 34 games in the league in his first full and proper season after nine appearances the previous year.
He is already being linked with a move around Europe, with several sides thought to be keen on his signature.
The Premier League are sure to be keeping track of him and West Ham were already named as suitors in the summer transfer window.
Speculation is ramping up ahead of the January transfer window, which saw the forward sit down with Sky Sports in Germany to discuss his future and reveal a surprise dream destination, Newcastle.
“I wouldn’t mind winning the Premier League either. I watch almost every game in England. Honestly,” he told them.
“The best players in the world play there. The Premier League is the best league in the world. Of course, there are Bayern, Paris and Real in the other leagues.
“But in England there are so many teams with a lot of quality. The football there is very intense, but mainly I watch the games because I play a virtual manager game with my friends. So, I have to keep an eye on everything there. I really enjoy that.
“Most recently Manchester United (are his favourite team) because of Cristiano Ronaldo, but there is another team that will surely surprise you: Newcastle United!
“Because when I was a kid, I watched the film ‘Goal’ and the player in that film fulfilled his dream of a professional career at Newcastle.
“I think Newcastle will be even better in real life. Because of their financial power and the incredible fans. I also like Leeds United, by the way.”
