Leeds United star Tyler Adams has been labelled one of the ‘three revelations’ at the World Cup following his impressive performances for the USA.
The midfielder was named as his country’s captain ahead of the tournament, the youngest at a World Cup since the 1950 edition.
He has fully lived up to the armband, playing a key role in the USA’s qualification from the group stages to the last 16 and building on an impressive start to life with Leeds, who he joined in the summer from RB Leipzig.
He’s been a key player for Jesse Marsch’s side since, firmly establishing himself in the centre of midfield and helping to fill the large shoes vacated by Kalvin Phillips.
His performances in Qatar have not gone unnoticed, with the 23-year-old earning praise from all corners as a result and being hailed as the perfect captain.
One of those who has been impressed is agent Giovanni Santoro, who hailed the midfielder in a recent conversation with Tuttomercatoweb.
“I say the captain of the States, Tyler Adams, class of ’99 whom I know well,” he told them when asked for ‘three revelations’.
“I have seen him several times live with Leeds and he is proving his worth as captain of the USA.
“Then Mohamed Kudus, jewel of Ghana and Ajax and as third I say Ritsu Doan: against Germany and Spain with his goals he gave the go-ahead to two historic comebacks against incredible teams. A memorable World Cup for the Japanese outfielder.”
