West Ham United continue being presented as an option for Marseille midfielder Gerson.

Brazilian club president Rodolfo Landim said they ‘closed the door’ to Gerson’s arrival, and even though the outlet believes this to be a bluff, there’s ‘hope’ other sides will come and offer what Marseille want.
Even though Marseille director Pablo Longoria is said to be ‘right not to rush’, they could do with Gerson’s departure, as that would ‘speed up several issues’. And since the interested clubs are aware of that, they are expected to use the situation to their benefit as well.
West Ham’s interest in Gerson had first been reported by the Brazilian media last week, with reports saying the Hammers were even irritated with the player’s father spreading rumours that he had already agreed a move to Flamengo, which was clearly not true.
