Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has insisted he is happy with life England, even if he never gets to see sunshine.
The Argentine is the undisputed number one at Villa Park after arriving in a £15.66m deal from Arsenal in September 2020.
He has enjoyed a rapid rise since that point, not only becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League but posting numbers that have earned him the Argentina number one shirt.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and there have been reports throughout this year that big clubs in Europe are interested.
Juventus were linked earlier this year, with the Aston Villa man even going as far as to admit he would discuss any transfer with his family should it be offered to him.
The Italian side did not make a move and Martinez has a contract at Aston Villa until 2027 anyway, which makes any transfer unlikely at this point.
He’s further added to that sense, insisting that he is happy with everything about life in England, except for the weather.
“Everything is perfect, the only bad thing is that you look up and you never see the sun,” he told ESPN.
“I get up at 7.30 in the morning, the kids are my alarm clock, while I prepare the mate, I play the Playstation for my son to play three races.
“I drop the baby off at school at 8.30am and I’m here at 9am (you have to be here at 9.30am), have breakfast here and then we start at 10.30am.
“People know me, but they are very respectful, they are happy with the team even if the results are inconsistent.”
